the diner your grandparents already knew about
Eggs on the flattop, coffee that keeps coming, and a booth in the middle of Norwood's Town Square that's been open since 1935.
Town Square Diner has been a family-owned fixture in the center of Norwood since 1935 — long enough to become the kind of place where the staff has your order figured out before you sit down.
"It was built by Frederick Quattrucci, my grandfather, who also did the Terrazzo on the statehouse steps in Boston. He was born in Italy and immigrated. My mother worked in the diner when she was a young woman, and met my father there before they got married. My father used to work for Hood milk, maintaining their first gasoline vehicles after horse drawn. He would look forward to service calls in Norwood because he could see my mother at the diner. He later built his first automobile repair shop, which became the lawnmower shop next door." — Don Bandoni
